Notes: This Amstrad Mega PC started out as a 386SX, by chance I found a compatible motherboard that was a 486SLC based board on eBay. Now it runs at 33MHz instead of 25MHz and has a whopping 1KB of L1 CPU cache and from memory 64KB of external L2 cache. It is essentially a revved up 386 or a crippled 486.
The hard drive had a tantalum capacitor catch fire and smoke out my lounge room one Sunday afternoon. I’ve since put a 504MB drive in while I source a replacement capacitor and attempt to repair the 107MB drive.
